Tenerife’s Beaches Receive More Awards
One of Tenerife’s most popular beaches – Playa de Las Vistas in Los Cristianos – has received yet another award, this time from AENOR, recognising its accessibility for disabled people.
AENOR – the Spanish Association for Standardisation – awarded the certificate which officially declares the bathing area, promenade and tourist information office of Las Vistas as an environment of global accessibility.
With the new award, the beach ranks as one of the top five in Spain, in terms of making the area accessible for disabled guests.
This is by no means the only triumph for the coastal areas of Tenerife. The beaches at El Médano, La Jaquita and La Tejita are also waving the highly sought-after Blue Flag this year. The councillors responsible for these beaches worked hard to ensure they would receive the award by improving cleaning services and increasing the number of lifeguards, amongst many other services.
The councillors are very pleased with the results and said they plan on continuing to work this way so that the ‘Medano Brand’ remains a benchmark in the Canary Islands and carries on to be an ideal destination for local residents and visitors.
