Walking in Tenerife

Whether you are a hard core hiker or a gentle promenader Tenerife has an abundance of wonderful walks and spectacular scenery.
Here is a guide to some of the more popular walks on the island.
Baranco del Infierno
This is a walk for those of medium mobility. Winding along the baranco's (valley) floor, this hike is a round trip of about two hours and culminates at the base of a marvellous waterfall.
Los Cristianos to Las Americas Coastal Walk
Recent years have seen a vast improvement in Tenerife's pavements and roads and it is now possible to walk along the beach front promenade all the way from Los Cristianos to Las Americas.
This picturesque walk is completely flat so is ideal for those with restricted mobility and can easily be negotiated by wheelchairs and electric buggies.

Despite the south of Tenerife being more well known for sun & sand, there are excellent walking routes to be found nearby either by using the local busses or a hire car. The beauty of being based in the south is that you nearly always have wonderful sunshine to return to at the end of your walk meaning that you can cool of with a swim or sit and soak up the sun with a drink in your hand.
