Camping Regulations

To use grounds regulated by the department of infrastructure and environment of the Tenerife Cabildo (Island Government), you need to apply for a permit beforehand, by filling in a form with the personal details of the campers in question, or their club, school, etc., the place, date and mode of camping.
In general, camping is not allowed in areas that are protected by THE CANARY ISLAND PROTECTED NATURAL SPACES ACT 12/1994, except in areas where it is expressly authorised.
On the other hand the coasts act prohibits camping on beaches, within the limits that come under the jurisdiction of the Tenerife coasts authority.

Camping Permits

Maximum validity of camping permits is 7 days for group and reduced camps, or 1 day for route trek camping.
Most camping grounds are usually near to recreation areas, which have children's playgrounds, barbecues and water.
Camping permits should be applied for 7 days in advance.
Organised groups that wish to participate in camping activities have more appropriate zones available than the camping grounds, such as camps and nature classrooms.
Permits can be applied for online at punto info
