El Medano Tenerife
Famous for its long, natural, sandy beaches the small town of El Medano lies on the south coast just 7km east of the Golf del Sur.
The year-round breezy conditions create a perfect playground for wind and water-sport enthusiasts and the town itself has developed onto a laidback haven for sporty types. This bohemian atmosphere is reflected in the health shops and yoga classes that share space with the surf shops and cafes along the boardwalk, which spans the length of the sandy main beach. This ever popular destination gets particularly lively in the run up to Easter, as the tented village of the incoming party crowd mingles with the camper vans of the windsurfing community.
