Candelaria

Cadelaria's Bedeutung stammt aus religiösen Verbindungen. Am Wichtigsten, jedenfalls für den Touristen, der hier mal vorbeischaut, ist die Basilika mit ihrer ‚schwarzen Madonna'.

Candelaria Teneriffa

Die schattigen Strassen und Plazas strahlen eine ruhige Würde aus und sind gefüllt mit historischen Denkmälern und geschichtlicher Archtitektur. 
Speziell die italienische Skulptur ‚Antonio Canova's Triunfu de virgin de la Candelaria' ( der Triumph der Jungfrau von Candelaria ), die auf der Hauptplaza in der Mitte steht, ruft grosses Interesse hervor. 
Hier findet man auch die Statuen der damaligen Guanchenkönige.

I visited Candelaria as part of an island tour and found the village lovely. The church is beautifull full of marvelous paintings and of course the black madonna, the statues on the square outside the church are marvelous and the whole typically spanish (not touristy) village is well worth a visit.Comments...

Candelaria is a town i found charming with its old village, typical houses, the church with its black madonna and the plaza facing the beach. Street cafe´s endless choice of restaurants of different nationalities, and more than anything no mass tourism, i came to tenerife to see the real tenerife, no british pubs etc.

Candelaria is a great place to go on a trip to. A day may be too long because there isn't a much to do as there is in a place like Puerto de la Cruz or Santa Cruz, but definately worth a visit.
