Plans for the Future of Tenerife Tourism

Jose Manuel Bermúdez, vice president and advisor to the Cabildo for Island Tourism and Antonio Bernabé the director general of tourist office, recently met in Madrid to consolidate their objective for promoting tourism in Tenerife.
Working with travel agency consortiums from Britain, Germany and some Nordic countries have helped to bring the Island to the attention of 3000 travel Agents. Cabildo for Island Tourism are targeting these areas in particular for the promotion of Tenerife as a holiday destination.
This is a similar project to the one run by Tourism of Tenerife,"Come to Tenerife" which attracted over 1200 Spanish professionals.
The project will be with the collaboration of some major sporting events that are held on the island like the Tenerife Ladies Open Golf, part of the European Tour and the Roland Garros tennis tournament.
A set of objectives and guidelines have been proposed that will run for the next 8 years. These will be targeting the renewal of all tourist areas, marketing, promotion and management.
Jose Manuel also attended the Hosteltur Forum where he met with Joan Mesquida who told him of his intended visit to Tenerife on the 11th of July, when he will meet with the Cabildo president Ricardo Melchior.
