The Ministry of Education have selected Nautilus, the digital educational device developed by Loro Parque Fundación, to be used in virtual education workshops at the National Congress of the Internet in Madrid.
Nautilus will be used in an on line demonstration at educational workshops where it will be connected to the Port of Güímar showing images of the sea bottom with an accompanying commentary explaining the ecosystem.
Loro Parque Fundación is a major player when it comes to environmental awareness through technology; Indeed education is top of its agenda with the many activities it promotes and the creation and development of Nautilus, its own online device that has been used by thousands of children throughout the Spanish peninsular and the Canary Islands
The objective of the foundation is to enable children to develop and gain knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of the environment, to respect to the plethora of animals in it and to understand their existing requirements and how they need to be cared for.
Distance learning is the initiative that the Loro Parque foundation will be taking to the pupils of Spain this year by allowing access to all the educational resources that they have to offer. The Loro Parque Fundación has it headquarters at The Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz and is a non-profit making, non-government organisation, registered with the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science by the Government of Spain in 1994.
