The virtual exhibition set up in Santa Cruz by the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes in November of last year is proving to be a huge success, with more than 22 countries contributing nearly 5,000 pictures on Tenerife Espacio de las Arte's Facebook page.
The additions have come from countries scattered all over the globe, including Mexico, Greece, Holland, the United States, Brazil and Turkey, however, most of the contributions are scenes from Madrid, Barcelona and Vigo.
To coincide with the virtual exhibition, Tenerife Espacio de las Artes held several workshops on the 6th of March, where photography enthusiasts were encouraged to talk to the experts to pick up some photography tips and use the modern professional camera equipment that was provided by the centre.
The programme is called El Ojo Instantaneo, and any pictures can be uploaded directly through facebook, or emailed to elojoinstantaneo@gmail.com. Anyone interested should also included full details of themselves, full name, address and contact number, and details of where the picture was taken.
Research has shown that 63% of the contributors are women and most are aged between 25 and 44. The youngest person taking part is 13 years old and the oldest is 55 years old.
