Two New Arrivals at Loro Parque

Loro Parque is continuing to expand, focusing on the variety and quality of the animals in the park.
The first addition this year is a pair of white Royal Bengal Tigers - Panthera Tigris Tigris. The male and female tigers are only 18 months old and came from Guangzhou Panya Xiangjiang Safari Park in China.
The girl - Yanjya - and boy - Linmao - are from a subspecies of tiger which is frequently found in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma and Southern Tibet. The two tigers are currently getting used to their surroundings and demonstrating a lot of curiosity, taking long siestas and arousing the interest of all visitors.
Bengal tigers are characterised by being - like all tigers - solitary animals which don't live in groups. However, the females do travel with their cubs in small groups of three or four.
These beautiful creatures can reach up to 3m in height and usually live in a great variety of habitats, including savannas and tropical forests. They feed on wild pigs, various species of deer, crustaceans, frogs, crabs and several species of fish.
