The shops in Santa Cruz tend to have morning and afternoon opening hours, although department stores and supermarkets are usually open form nine to nine.

There is a vast variety of cheap electronics on offer as well as clothes shops. You can also pick up some inexpensive tobacco and perfume.

Suggested favourite shopping centres are El Corte Inglés, Maya, IKEA, Carrefour and Al Campo.

The Santa Cruz Flea Market is open on Sunday morning - worth a visit if you want to immerse yourself in the Canarian culture - while a more conventional consumer experience can be had at the Continent Shopping Centre.
