Playa de la Arena in Santiago del Teide has once again been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag. Things to do in Tenerife

Tenerife is famous for all year round sunshine and black sand beaches, which are attributed to the Volcano "El Teide" situated at the centre of the island. The crystal clear waters that surround this Vibrant Island make it an extremely popular water-sports destination.
The beaches of Tenerife are mainly situated around the major tourist resorts, some are of natural fine black sand, some of shingle and rock, others are man made and all are very high quality.
Several beaches have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, for being extremely clean and environmentally friendly, most are easy to access and offer an abundance of facilities which include showers, sun beds, shaded areas, beach/snack bars and an excellent range of superb water-sports.
Daytime activities in Tenerife are in abundance and cater for all, they include hiking and cycling, paragliding, surfing, fishing, diving, sailing and golf. Try a new activity while the children are safely playing at the Kids Club.
For night time entertainment visit one of the many cabaret bars, take in a show, dine out at an endless selection of restaurants ranging from typical Canarian food, to Mexican, Chinese, Indian or Thai to name but a few. The major tourist resorts offer dancing till dawn with a great selection of cocktail bars and sophisticated clubs.
Most of the hotels here, offer a fantastic selection of facilities including restaurants and entertainment on site.
Young or old there is lots to do, so many wonderful places to see, there is something for everyone on this magical island.

Tenerife has one of the best climates in the world and can more or less guarantee the sun all year round - nicknamed the island of eternal spring.
Different climatic areas can be found over the island - the North tends to be cooler with lush vegetation and dramatic coastlines. The home of the capital city of Santa Cruz.
The sizzling South is home to the main holiday hotspots with fantastic beaches, hotels, restaurants and nightlife.
At the centre of the island is the highest mountain in Spain the spectacular volcano El Teide, often capped with snow in the winter, with lunar landscapes set amid the beautiful Teide National Park.
