Golf first arrived on Tenerife in 1932 with the construction of The Real Club de Golf Tenerife in the north of the island.
Tenerife's golf heritage
This undulating and tree lined course, which incidentally is the second oldest in the whole of Spain, has a distinctly English feel to its immaculately maintained fairways and greens. Since those early days of the sport on the island, golf has emerged as the number one pastime on the Canary Islands and Tenerife now boasts at least six world class golf courses with one, designed by Seve Ballesteros.

The options for golf players in Tenerife are excellent. For players who wish to improve their game there are facilities for lessons and some wonderful driving ranges. There are many golf shops and wholesalers with some great bargains on clubs and equipment.
