Cabo Blanco Tenerife

At the foot of the Chijafe Mountain and the Roque de Higara lies the growing town of Cabo Blanco.
In the 1950's this region had a population of just thirty four but has grown over the last fifty years or so to its present figure of over four thousand. Mostly residential the town does however have some features of interest to visitors.
There are a number of very good Canarian restaurants including the famous St Martine or as it's commonly known here: "The Pig Farm". There is also a fantastic garden centre on the outskirts growing many of the exotic floras and faunas indigenous to Tenerife.

I lived in Cabo Blanco for a couple of years whilst working in Playa Las Americas.
It was always a welcome relief to get home away from the tourists.
Its a very typical Canarian village with very friendly locals.
If you ever go there, find Alfe's Bar just off the main street, best place in the world.
