The world class Abama Golf is connected to an ultra luxurious Abama Gran Hotel a Deluxe 5-star hotel and villa complex in the south-west of Tenerife. 18-hole golf course and academy
The course itself consists of eighteen-hole par-72 competition course with a further nine holes to make a total of twenty-seven. There is also a clubhouse and a three hole practice course. The overall layout enjoys stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean with white-sand bunkers, over 90,000 palms and twenty two lakes.
The course was designed by golf legend Dave Thomas who had this to say of his brain child;
"This is very special, a unique project, our tropical experience. We have never done anything like this; this is the most attractive place where we have built a course. It has been marvellous to work on this project, a real challenge. We are very satisfied with the results and we are grateful to Tropical Hoteles for the opportunity we have been given to do something like this. The views from the holes of the Atlantic Ocean and the Island of La Gomera are fantastic; the sea and the land blend in a setting of luxuriant vegetation. There are thousands of palm trees plus desert and tropical species. It is a spectacular location, truly idyllic."
