To attract more tourism to the island, the Turismo de Tenerife has launched a YouTube video production featuring videos of many different areas of the island. Each video focuses on a certain aspect of Tenerife that is not commonly frequented by British tourists.
The video that features on the front page, entitled "Tenerife, Where the Senses Hide", portrays Tenerife as a place to relax, with people lounging in hammocks among trees in the national park, on tranquil beaches and in small wooden boats in the sea. However, the video also features more energetic activities, such as surfing, exploring UNESCO World Heritage sites and fancy-dress parties. The video ends with the slogan: "Where do senses hide? At the place where the sky meets the earth...".
All the videos on the YouTube channel promote Tenerife as being the perfect holiday destination with something for everyone. Every aspect of the island is covered, including the water and animal parks, beaches, the national park, the shopping opportunities, museums and the festivals to name just a few. The videos can be viewed on the following website: www.youtube.com/user/WebtenerifeEn.
The vice-president of the Tenerife Island government and councillor for tourism, José Manuel Bermúdez, said, "The internet is an important place to research travel, so we are keen to ensure that Tenerife's voice is heard on social media platforms".
