Santa Cruz Rock Festival will take place at the capital's trade fair centre between May 24th and 26th.
Although Leopoldo Mansito - the director of LM Producciones - is reluctant to confirm the line-up, many huge names have been mentioned, including Iggy Pop, Lenny Kravitz, Linkin Park and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Those interested should keep an eye on the Santa Cruz Rock Festival website, where all the latest details are being posted as soon as they are revealed.
"What we can confirm," divulged the mayor of Santa Cruz, "is that it will be the most important musical event ever held in the Canary Islands, and that between them, the visiting artists have sold over 270million records".
More than €5million will be invested in the event, with funds coming from not only the regional government, but also the city council, the port authority and local, national and international private investor who are hoping the event will rival established festivals such as the Rock in Rio and BBK Live.
Santa Cruz in Tenerife regularly hosts a wide array of exciting festivals and events. Next month the capital celebrates its annual carnival - the second largest in the world.
