New Eco-Hamlet at El Tanque

Work is currently underway to produce Tenerife's latest tourist attraction - a large-scale eco-museum and hamlet.
The project will allow visitors to experience rural life as it used to be on the island through a variety of interactive means. Those interested will be able to participate in workshops, join guided tours, learn how to plant trees and seeds, and understand the importance of preserving Tenerife's heritage and customs.
The museum and its associated properties, including an authentic farmhouse, will be surrounded by 11 hectares of rural land. Construction is now in its final stages and is currently centered on completing a cattle driving platform.
President of the Tenerife Cabildo, Ricardo Melchoir, recently visited the site to see how work is progressing and was joined by the agricultural councillor, José Joaquin Bethencourt and the mayor of the municipality, Faustino Alegria.
One of the primary objectives of the project is to recover the agricultural land that used to produce cereals, crops and an impressive 152 varieties of Canarian potatoes. A farmhouse and the associated swellings are also being renovated to reflect the architectural heritage of the Teno Rural Park. The farmhouse will include various sections, such as a kitchen, tasting rooms and exhibition room.
