The prestigious German magazine, ‘Golf Journal', has awarded Buenavista Golf with the title of second best golf course in Europe, following a poll.
The award was presented at the ITB Berlin tourism fair to President of the Tenerife Cabildo, Ricardo Melchior. ‘Golf Journal' awards are presented annually and are divided into three categories: best golf destination, best course and best hotel.
Owned by the Tenerife Cabildo, Buenavista Golf is one of the eight quality courses available on the island. Designed by Severiango Ballesteros, the course boasts 18 holes with par 72 and an impressive length of 6,012 metres.
Tenerife has become increasingly popular as a destination for golf among German tourists who currently outnumber the British golf players who were previously been the most numerous. In 2010, Tenerife welcomed a total of 54,000 German golfers, an increase of 11.5% in comparison to the previous year.
